What is affiliate marketing?

Affiliate marketing is an advertising method where an advertiser (or merchant) rewards an affiliate for each click, lead, or sale generated by the users who were redirected to the advertiser's website through the affiliate's marketing efforts.

Socios is a high-value intermediate in this process, providing the technological and administrative infrastructure as well as managing the relationship between advertisers and affiliates.

Who can be an affiliate?

Any person or business who owns a site, blog, social network account, or database, shares content online, and wishes to make money from their traffic can become an affiliate.

Having large amounts of traffic is important. However smaller niche affiliates who are very relevant to the product or service a merchant is offering are also highly valued.

What is an affiliate program?

An affiliate program is the agreement between the merchant and the affiliate. The merchant makes promotional tools available, sets out the objectives of the campaign, and how much they will pay the affiliate for reaching these objectives.

What type of programs can I find in Soicos?

Soicos works with advertisers of all types with different needs, but the most common ones are click, lead, and sale.

A program's payment method sets out the advertiser's objectives and how much commission they will pay every time an affiliate reaches this objective (click, lead, or sale). These are the payment models most commonly used by advertisers:

CPC: Cost per click. The merchant pays commission to the affiliate every time a user on their site clicks on an ad and is redirected to the merchant's site.

CPL: Cost per lead. The merchant pays commission to the affiliate every time a user on their site clicks on an ad and is redirected to the merchant's site where they sign up or give their data to the merchant. The client validates these leads to make sure they are not fraudulent.

This is an ideal payment model for advertisers who don't necessarily complete transactions online but use the internet to build their customer base. The form could request information, contact details, subscription to a newsletter etc.

CPS: Cost per sale. The merchant pays commission to the affiliate every time a user on their site clicks on an ad and is redirected to the merchant's site where they complete a purchase. The advertiser can choose to pay out a fixed fee per order, or a % of the value of the sale.

This is the ideal model for advertisers whose customers complete their purchase online.

What are the requirements to join an affiliate program?

The only requirement to join an affiliate program is to have an online media space and engaged traffic. This could be a website, a blog, a database, a community on social media, etc. In any case, the advertiser reserves the right to accept or reject your application to join the program without any explanation. In most cases they do not accept publishers who:

  • Show violent, racist, or offensive messages against people, groups, or organisations. Or sites involved in political or religious recruitment.
  • Illegal Drugs, narcotics, or related items.
  • Pornography, nudity, and sexual content
  • Any content which promotes banned activities or infringes on legal rights
How will I know which programs to pick?

In the network you will be able to see a description of each advertiser and the terms and conditions of each programme. You will see the conditions and commission that each advertiser offers. You can choose according to your geographical area, your target audience, the type of campaign, or the commisison paid.

Can I apply to more than one programme?

Yes. You can apply to all the programs you wish to. We recommend analyzing each program beforehand to fully understand which ones are most suitable to your site.

Where can I see the results I obtain on these programs?

Once you are registered and accepted by the merchant, you can log into our network where you can find performance reports in real time.

When will I receive my commissions?

Once the commissions are approved by the client, you will see them in your account and you can request payment.

What are the payment methods?

You can receive your payment via a bank transfer or via PayPal (for sums below 1000 USD)

All payment requests are made through the Soicos interface and are paid within 60 days of the invoice being received.
